2021 BGA Junior Tour Coronavirus/Covid-19 Tournament Rules and Disclaimer

    1. At all BGA sponsored events, Tour players, their parents, guardians, and chaperones agree to maintain strict social distancing in accordance with current Federal, state and local guidelines. This means maintaining a minimum of six (6) feet between players at all times before, during and after tournament rounds. It is the Tour players, their parents, guardians, and chaperones responsibility to ensure these strict guidelines are followed.
    2. There can be no more than 10 “socially distanced” people in any one area at a time. This includes the pre-tournament registration area, the putting green, the driving range, the clubhouse, golf course, scoring area, and the parking lot.
    3. Players are limited to a 20-minute warm up on the putting green and a 20-minute warm up on the driving range to ensure all players can safely access these areas while maintaining social distancing. In addition, players should do their best to arrive to the tournament venue no more than 1 hour before his or her tee time.
    4. In addition to these guidelines, players, their parents, guardians, and chaperones must adhere to any and all additional local rules and regulations at each tournament venue related to spacing on the practice range, putting green, clubhouse, etc.
    5. When carts are available, players must ride only with their parent, guardian, or chaperone. A player may not ride with someone who is not his or her parent, guardian, or chaperone. The only exception to this rule is in the event of inclement weather necessitating an evacuation of the course. In this instance, a player can ride with someone other than his or her parent, guardian or chaperone.
    6. The scoring area will be outside of the clubhouse. Scorecards will not be swapped before or after the tournament round. Each player will be given one of their playing partners’ scorecards on the first tee and that player will keep that scorecard for the entire round. At the conclusion of their round, each playing group should proceed to the scoring area and wait until the scoring area is clear of any other players. Then, each player will proceed to read out the numbers hole-by-hole until an agreement is reached as to that player’s score. There will be no exchange and signing of scorecards. Scores will be official once entered into the computer and agreed upon before all players leave the scoring area.
    7. We ask that the players forego handshakes before, during, and after tournament rounds.
    8. Players are responsible for bringing their own clubs, tees, balls, pencils, and ball markers to each tournament. There will not be a starters box on the first and 10th tees. The BGA will provide 1 ball repair tool to each player before their first tournament of the season.
    9. The BGA will not be providing a Rules of Golf this year; however, players may use their copy of the Rules of Golf from last year and/or they can use their cell phones to access the USGA Rules of Golf app.
    10. Players are responsible for making sure that all flagsticks remain in the hole at all times. Players should not touch the flagsticks. In addition, players should remove their ball from the hole using two fingers.
    11. There will not be rakes in the bunkers, so the Local Rule of moving your ball one scorecard length is allowed in all bunkers.
    12. If a player thinks his or her ball could be lost or out of bounds, the player should ALWAYS hit a provisional ball, announcing this intent, to save time walking back as no rides will be allowed except with a family member.
    13. Drinks will be available in BGA coolers and these drinks are for PLAYERS only. In addition, players are required to use the provided hand sanitizer before reaching into the cooler to get a drink.
    14. In the event tournament play is suspended, please evacuate to your cars in the parking lot and await word via email and/or social media. If this is not an option, there will be a designated safe area at each venue.
    15. Players that have experienced fever, shortness of breath, or other Covid 19 related symptoms or have knowingly been exposed to someone with Covid 19 within 14 days prior to a tournament round are asked to contact the BGA to reschedule their next tournament to a later date.
    16. It is the responsibility of each player, parent, guardian, and chaperone to abide by the above rules. If the BGA staff is made aware of a rule violation, the BGA reserves the right to take appropriate action including, but not limited to disqualification from tournament play.
